Glenvar Vs. Salem ~ All Stars Tournament

Tonight, two teams remained in what's left of the All-Stars Tournament, for our age division.  Greenhill park is becoming more vacant of teams, yet increasing in number thanks to the fan base/hype over the remaining games.  This is a big deal.  The two best teams are left standing.  We played Salem tonight.  They were undefeated and we have only lost one game.  Remember, this is a double elimination tourney! Obviously the odds were against us.
In the 3rd inning, the score was 3 to 3.
In the 4th inning, the score was 4 to 4.
In the 5th inning, the score was 11 to 5.  WOAH!  We were winning, but the game was NOT over yet.  By the end of the 6th inning, Glenvar won 11 to 10.  Salem caught up mightily, but we were victorious in the end.
Love the below shot of Ty running home!
This leaves our team with one last game to play.  We play Salem AGAIN, tomorrow night, @ 6:00 pm.  This is reallllly bitter sweet for so many reasons.  If we win tomorrow, WOW!  We will head to the State Championship Tournament in South Boston, VA.  That is a huge accomplishment, but South Boston is not quite the lap of luxury. If we had to go to Richmond or Charlotte, NOW we'd be talking.  The downfall to this is that in place of a family vacation to Myrtle Beach, we'd be driving back and forth to South Boston daily/nightly.  People... that is a 2.15 hour drive.  SHOOOOOT me!!!! Whether we win or lose tomorrow, OUR family still wins.  Myrtle Beach or South Boston... here we come.  Ty best not EVER say we didn't sacrifice anything for him.  LOL!
